I now have a favorite holiday.

Screw Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, Valentine's Day and any other holiday created or made into a food- and/or consumer-fest by giant corporations. I'm just bummed that I found out about this two days after it happened. I'll just be extra prepared for next year.

We're pleased that the brilliant Humez Brothers have a book due out from Oxford University Press next year about the period (or should we say, on the dot).

How they will produce 70,000 words on the subject of that most abbreviated bit of punctuation is a head-scratcher, but the probability that it will make for a fascinating read is quite beyond me.
